I remember the 1st time I got a HD TV and re-watching all my favorite movies, how cool it was. Then after getter better audio gear and yes cables etc.. my music came a live and now when I dig out a old CD or record I have not heard in a long time, I hear so much I never heard before. Maybe I just was not listening before or the new gear allows one to hear what you never heard before or do you just pay more attention then before because you expecting it to sound better?
I find myself listening inside a song, hearing the cymbals and the bass or isolating the horns etc... I don't think I remember Eddie Money sounding this good :)
For me I'm sending a lot of my free time going thru all my old stuff finding some old friend's who have never sounded so sweet!

Who doesn't like "NEW" anything? I love new , it's why I lease vehicles so I can have a new one every 3 years, it rules. I love new gear , I constantly swap out this for that just to keep things fresh. Love new Music , exciting to hear a new Album , come on new food , who doesn't love going out to eat especially when it's a new restaurant?
    New is Awesome period.

  • An observation I made was that the Dave Matthews Band production was just eh/so so until I listened to them on my tube amp with my LSIM 703's. I kinda thought that maybe DM was producing his music for the ipod/earbud people b/c until I listened on better gear it seemed flat and compressed and the bass was over emphasized and muddy to boot. Now I have a entirely different opinion. He might not be your cup of tea, but the band is very good.

Agreed. Super nice guys too. I've met Roi Moore (who has since passed away from an ATV accident) a couple of times, and Dave for about 5 seconds on the downtown mall here.

But I digress. I've had the same epiphany with my humble Rti set up as of late. The old PS3 has been working hard spinning some of my old favorite cd's, and I've been noticing riffs, sounds in the background, etc that I've never heard before. Now I just need a 200x5 amp, and I'll REALLY be enjoying my tunes.

His stuff still sounds nothing like it should. The recordings are not Pop/Rock bad, but they're scratching that line. His live recordings actually sound worse for some reason. Now, his acoustic sets with Tim still sound pretty darn good, but the rest is still 'meh'.

I really enjoy the live concert DVD's, not sure what you are looking for in them???

I have him and Tim also, like it too.

Their CD quality is piss poor. I wish a band who put out that much material, both studio and live, would have someone come in and know what the hell they were doing when recording. DMB is my favorite band without a doubt.

Have you played the DVD live at Piedmont park?? I love it.
