Probably similar to the sound of a tree falling in the forest with no one there to hear it since he's at work and can't hook it up and listen yet. Just look at it all day waiting for quitting time to roll around. Just like a kid on Christmas Eve.

    Congrats by the way.

Been busy enough haven't had the chance to really oogle her just yet.

Installing 23 printers, 15 monitors, rolling out to network switches for our office and a bunch of other stuff...

Just realized I missed lunch today as well hehehe....

Tonight will be installing it if I get lucky, though my wife is trying to hassle me into switching phone plans which ends up saving us money, but requires me to get a new phone, so I can either stick with what I have or get a new one, which requires research, which I dont have time to do......

I got my B&K about 4 years ago and I really like it. I've said before, but I think I'd need to make a significant financial investment to better it for my ears.

Congrats on the new amp, she looks like an beast.

  • So I waited till the little one was down to bring in the new unit....

    Wife goes "WTF is that?"

    Me: "Its our new amp"

    Wife: "Where's it going"

    Me: "Where the Carver is"

    Wife: "It wont fit"

Me: "Yes it will, I measured like 15 times"

Wife: "If it breaks the entertainment center, I will be UBER PISSED"

Me: "It wont, I put those blocks under it"

Wife: "Whatever, so what are you doing with the Carver"

    Me: "Going to sell it"

Wife: "For how much, and whats the cash being used for"

Me: "250 + shipping, more audio stuff"

Wife: "So....... when are you going to reimburse the bank account for the 40 bucks you spent to ship the other amp to Michigan? Did you think I was gonna forget that?"

    Me: "Damn......"

Then I pulled out the rack, installed the B&K, connected it to the APC unit, turned the amp on...

And it didnt trip the APC with inrush current. So thats good. Currently using a bit more power than with the Carver, but not a ton more.

Unit is louder than my Carver at the same volume, so thats a plus.

Unit didnt break my entertainment center... thats good....

Now tomorrow going to hook up the 12v trigger and play with that a bit so the amp isnt on 24/7, then re-run Audyssey, then play with some REW sweeps... maybe....

So great end to the day....

Tomorrow, lets turn it up a bit and see what kinda noise we can make..

Normally I do as well.... here is my reason for NOT...

    1. I sold something (2 channel Carver amp) to buy something. So no money came from the bank account, hence no need for "funding" approval.
    2. Its replacing something we have and its around the same size and finish, so no real change to the WAF of the equipment. If anything it looks BETTER than the Carver
    3. No extra buttons or remotes need to be relearned to use

If I need to spend "account" money, then pre-approval and a rigorious application and screening process take place to vet the investment to ensure it is needed. Normally this process weed's out around 99% of all applications

Eh I will play around w it, but my nice upgraded power cord isn't long enough and then it's not surge protected.

Its connected to the high current plugs.

I Mau also try it connected to my Furman AC-215a conditioner as that is supposedly better in regards to any possible current limiting issues

    OK Fella's question for you.

I am planning on scre wing with the 12v trigger tonight if I get a chance..

However every time I turn off the amp via the power button (so its not running 24/7) I get a nice little thump from my speakers.

Thoughts on how to correct it?

Right now I'm normally turning off my AVR & Source gear first, then the amp.

Do I need to do it the other way around?

    Thoughts appreciated...
