Fantastic! thanks for the fast response! Sounds really neat! Too bad the pics are MIA, I would have really liked to see them all finished.

Pictures are there, just not where they were originally. Look at the bottom of each post.

HA! Oh wow! I was so upset with the "attachment not found" that I completely overlooked the bottom of the posts! I'm a newbie, what can I say? Now, time to see these bad boys!

    Thanks again for the links.

Ha! Yeah, I really am quite poor at the moment though. Most of my money goes to rent/school/food Lol! Nearly everything in my setup is either a hand-me-down or some sort of goodwill/thrift shop find. In fact, most of the things I have, I find in very poor/broken condition, so I fix and clean it up. My H/K next to the M-80 for instance, I found it at goodwill with a "broken/as is" sign on it. Bought it for $35 only to find the problem with it was it didn't produce any picture through HDMI. Turns out it was just a couple fried diodes on the HDMI main-board. Also, the main-board wasn't grounded properly, so I fixed that as well. The 1C's are actually the most expensive thing in my setup, I paid a whopping $120 for those! I almost passed them up, but i scrounged a bit and combined the cash I had with the last drop of my student loan money for that semester! Haha! Anyways, yeah, it looks nice, but I really haven't (can't) put that much money into it. lol!

Thanks for the warm wishes everyone. I may be just a poor engineering student right now, but trust me, I'm a budding audiophile if I do say so!
It looks like you are on your way...however, take your time. Compared to many you have a nice setup for a working student. There is a ton of money that can be spent on a stereo in due time....if you wish?

Many like myself put together basic systems in college. Many have other costly hobbies. Myself, I was also into live music, drumming, cycling, cars, etc. I listened to high end systems but told myself that maybe in my 30's-40's I will be able to invest $20K or more into a high end system. So, I put that idea on the shelf for later and put my energy into hi fidelity car audio. Now in my 40's I have yet to put that $20K plus system together as life, wife, kids, bill, inflation, etc is still getting in the way. However, I will manage something nice in time.

So be patient and just enjoy the music! When you get into your career, keep doing what you are doing. Go slow, and find the best bang for the buck gear. In time your dream system will come.

Eloquently put WLDoc! I agree with everything you said 100 percent! Car audio is also another (expensive) passion of mine. I've worked on so many systems for so many different cars I cant even recall half of them. You said you did a bit of drumming, my house-mate is a drummer as well! Its pretty cool watching/listening to him just let loose and create some mad beats! I can say that I too have told myself that ill build a truly "high end" system one day. I cant predict the future, but I'm willing to bet I'll be in the same boat as you are now. Patience really is the name of the game, we'll get that $20k system someday! I'm also proud to say that even though i have lofty aspirations for my systems to come, it in no way affects how much I enjoy listening to music here, in the present, on my current setup. Whenever I get a sliver of free time, I just listen... listen in awe.

"Looks doesn't matter to your ears"

You got that right! I'm a HUGE fan of refurbishing/restoring old or damaged equipment. DIY is also kind of a code I choose to live by, no one is gonna hand me whatever I want, so I might as well get used to, even enjoy, doing things myself. All the while learning something new every step of the way.
