Hey guys...just came across a pair of JBL 120TI's....one owner...non smoking environment..wants 350 for both....I had a pair of Century 100's...they were nice...I think these are an upgraded model....Question?? How hard is it to rework the Xover ....re foam? Worth it in the end?.....will look at them tomorrow and give them a once over ....

120TI's are way better than century L100's.
Centuries have great following but almost any vintage JBL is better than the Century sound wise.
My L100T's were way better than L100's and 120ti is even better than L100T.
Think 120TI's are equivalent of L100T3 more or less.
JBL's have very decent crossover so can be pricey to upgrade.
Not sure about the price for something that needs refoam.
If condition is good, their value will go up and up so you won't lose any money on them.

Thanks...I remember my Centuries....I'll look the 120's up ....he said he has had them since 86... That's why I was inquiring into rebuild possibilities....heck,they might not need anything...but I doubt it due to their age.....

Get them if in good condition.
Refoam of JBL is not as easy as others due to very narrow VC gap but doable.

The crossovers are indeed rather complex, but worth it once upgraded. They used mostly NP Electrolytics as I recall, so you have fun fitting MP Caps on it. As Mystery said, very tight tolerances on the old JBL woofers, but if done correctly, they're awesome woofers.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Surround kits start at $25 a pair and go up from there.
Not sure what the price on 120Tis (evidently sold for $699 each a few decades ago) would be but L100Ts or T3s could be anywhere from 250-400 depending on condition. They're pretty BIG BOYS. And not everyone gets the "mystery" price.
I have a set of L80Ts in very good condition and I would probably ask for at least 250 if not 300 for the pair! The 120s being a higher model should bring more!

Yes condition is what matters.
If they are in good condition and I assume they are since the owner is original owner, they are easily worth asking price.
However, if they are trashed, not worth much more but even their parts alone will bring more than that assuming all drivers are original and work.
