I stopped in at Transparent Music today

I went to demo the Rogue Atlas Magnum power amp. The setup consisted of a Well Tempered turntable with a Dynavector 20XH cartridge, Sonus Faber 2 ways book shelve speakers and a Cronus Magnum integrated amp. This has the same power amp section as the Atlas. I really enjoyed the demo but the thing that really caught my eye and ear was the KD-CLN-LP200 ultrasonic record cleaner. I had just bought If 2 on vinyl. He played it uncleaned with a simple dry brushing. Then Barry cleaned my LP on the KD-CLN-LP200, the diff. was night and day. I want one in the worst way but with an MSRP of $3,995 it will not likely happen anytime soon.

Looks Great, careful around the pets though, that's funny because I use my nitty gritty and my cats just sits at my feet while I use it even when I vacuum it..

I see these units becoming very affordable in the next several years. At the Chicago and Capitol Audiofest, they were selling one from Ultrasonic.com that cleans 6 or 10 lps at a time for $1,395. This one: http://www.ultrasonicrecords.com

At some point I will try this. I've been traveling a lot for work lately and am behind on things around the house. Once this settles a bit I will look into this more.

I do have a RCM now, but don't even have a turntable set up at the moment. I will get one back in before long though.

I do have experience with a lot bigger ultrasonic cleaners and they work very well...

  • Nice... Just set it up with shaft and mounting system where you can put multiple LP's at once...Don't want to see you put 4 more holes in your records... :D

  • Can you get 20 guys to each kick in $200.00 per person. The cleaner would rotate among you so each person could clean all their records. Just make an allowance that if one guy had a "dirty platter emergency" he can drop by to clean his record out of turn.
Also set up a deal where for X amount of cash records can be cleaned for "outsiders"
