Yes David,540 CD's (some double some tripple and quad) and still not a dent in the Seagate hard drive. I think I'm good with this one, but still will want to transfer it all to another unit and just out that away for a rainy day...if that's possible?? BTW, cool pic as your sign in. I think I'm changing mine!

Hey Johnny. My Avatar is a Pioneer Graphite woofer from the early 80s, that I re-foamed for a customer. Extremely fragile, and it was "White Knuckle" through the whole process. My supplier told me every graphite woofer he ever attempted to re-foam shattered.
I was thinking about your external drive after we spoke. Hard Drives do fail. It's always good to have a backup of what you have. I'd hate to see you spend all these hours ripping and encoding only to lose everything 6 months or 2 years from now. You might want to consider purchasing another external drive, and copying all the ripped albums over to it. As you add more Albums, say once a week or once a month, transfer them over to the backup drive.

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

Is there a way to do that using a tablet? The only thing I can come up with is tapping on the avatar, which takes you to that person's profile. Is there an equivalent to hovering your pointer over something using a touch screen? I'm hoping it's something I just haven't learned how to do yet with my tablet because there have been times on other sites where it would have been nice to be able to hover over something.
  • I'm afraid I don't know that one, sorry.

When I tap on an avatar it takes me to the individual's profile page. Which isn't where I want to go.

Johnny.... if it were me, I'd snag a 3TB external drive from newegg when they have some refurbs in..

I paid 109 shipped for my 3TB drive and will likely be snagging another for my WD Live TV.

Stupid forum error out... but yes... 2 3TB drives would be good.. one at your house, another somewhere else so if your house goes.. your music is safe....

And I'm too paranoid about that damn cloud thing to trust it........ Once its on the net its no longer safe.........

I now have over 800 songs on the 2TB and its reading says that it not making a dent in the storage, so another 2TB will be sufficient, and yes I will get it done. In the meantime, I may look to some sort of stick to transfer my tunes onto and if that works, I 'll put the current Seagate HD in storage!
