Totem Rainmakers
Ive spent a lot of time with these speakers over the past week. They truely are amazing little speakers. Its astonishing the amount of true clean bass they produce. Danny shipped them bomb proof and the mahogany finish is beautiful.
They were run on the gear in my sig. I have a room that is approx 19x19 with a vaulted ceiling. Jazz, folk, classical and light rock really shine on the rainmakers. When asked to play harder rock with busy electronics, they struggled slightly and compressed a bit. Not bad nonetheless.
Build quility is first class and overall its a top notch bookshelf speaker that do many things well. I'll end this rather short review saying that in my room on my gear, im going to keep the B&Ws. They just seem to work best for me considering that my system pulls double duty.
So, gonna let them go to someone who may be looking to use them in a smaller 2 ch system. My guess is that they would really shine on tubes and im not going in that direction right now.
I have all the packaging that Danny used and will ship the same. Cost me 650.00 to get them here and im willing to take a bit of a hit for the opportunity to demo, compare and have some fun. 600.00, plus actual ship and pp.

Just wanted to add a note before you move to the FS area, I thought these were so beautiful and well made speakers. Very highly regarded according to many reviews. The only thing that many mentioned as a critique was that the speakers sound best in a little smaller room, your 19'x19' probably was a bit large for them? I doubt you 'll have any problem selling them for $600. GLWTS!

Yes, i think for the room size is definitely a factor. If i was building a 2 ch in a smaller room, id be hanging on to them for sure. -
A really nice bookshelf speaker that only lost out (to monster Carvers) because I heard it at a member's house who also owned some TOTL Carver Amazings. And, well, it has great bass for its size but it's totally unfair to compare that to the Carvers which do Symphonic Hall sound really really REALLY well!
GLWTS!

Great review D, and what a nice way to alert fellow members that they can snatch these up for a great price. I hope I'm able to hear them before they leave the state!"if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!
