Hey all these came up on craigslist, and I was wondering if any of you have owned these or have listened to them? They sure are sexy and wonder if they were to compete with Lsi's. If so is that a fair asking price, and are they worth checking out?

Lots of favorable reviews, also a few that say the midrange breaks up around 500Hz, then people say that the cabinets are of the finest furniture quality, and that the tweeters used are found in a lot of higher end speakers I guess I should get a ear on them, if they are still around in a day or two thanks for the input.

The Onix Rockets were the AV123 model for their Home Theater series. They are a solid all round speaker that I would put solidly side by side with the RTiAs in build quality and sound quality but with slightly more musical tendencies due to the Vifa radial ring tweeter which pushes them slightly towards the LSis in voicing.
Kind of a best of both worlds speaker when compared side by side with the RTiAs and LSis.

All of the drivers were stock drivers but the real magic happened with the crossovers which used slightly better components than their contemporaries.
The company was headed for great things but suddenly fell apart when the company primary, Mark Schifter was caught up in a major fraud case involving some illegal raffles he was holding (didn't get the required licenses from the state of Colorado) and was ultimately indicted on 5 counts of varying degrees tied to 27 different charity scams.

A lot of people shy away from the products due to moral reservations but that doesn't change the fact that they were a solid entry into the HT market in sound quality and were very aesthetically pleasing.

Frankly, at $500 for the 750s, you have nothing to lose trying them out. I would buy them, listen to them and if they don't tickle your fancy, turn around and sell them for no loss.
