Speakers Sound "Underwater" and Muffled

Hello everyone,
I purchased two Monitor 70 Floor Standing Speakers as well as a CS10 Center Channel Speaker about 6 months ago. I connected them to my Pioneer VSX - 1023K 7.1 Receiver. I've had no issues with them until last night when I turned my system on and began watching a movie and noticed how unclear, muffled and "underwater" my speakers sounded. I recently moved and had not set up my two surround speakers yet so it was just the F and C, plus the SW. I went through all settings on the receiver and couldn't find anything that may have caused it to modify the sound effect; I was sure it was a special Hall EQ mode or something of that nature, but it turns out it wasn't. I went as far as resetting the receiver to the factory settings and redoing all wired connections, nothing changed. I connected my two rear speakers that hadn't been connected, and the sound is crisp just as it's supposed to be and how it previously sounded. I live with two other roommates and it's possible that they played loud music, but I was always under the impression that if they're blown, that they sound absolutely horrible, or no sound at all. My speakers still sound okay, but they're noticeably different. I'm pretty well off when it comes to DIY, repairs, etc... but am new to speakers and audio. Does anyone know what could've caused this or how to test them? I do have a multimeter if that can be used in any way.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Definitely sounds like blown tweeters. Someone cranked the crap out of them when you weren't home. Make them pay for new tweets, which can be had by calling Polk customer support, which is excellent.TV: 65" Samsung QLED 4K

Check to make sure you still have sound coming out of the tweeters on the fronts, they can be easily blown by playing too loud with a receiver.

I had a similar issue with my old R40's after a loud party and ended up replacing the tweeters. Once swapped, sound was back to normal.Speakers: Polk RTi10

Check the tweeters, and check that your center is working.Main Surround -

I would remove the jumper strips on the back and then connect your speaker wire to the top set of terminals to test the tweeters.Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world.
