If my account starts posting messages telling you all to go to hell, I just wanted to let you know it is indeed me and not the hackers

...and people think I'm crazy for not having a bank account and instead only a prepaid debit card that carries a $0 balance unless I'm just about to buy something from Amazon. Too many fees accociated with a bank account as well as risk of someone getting your CC or debit info.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

The question is WHO is NOT on that list? I suspect the majority of us have been hacked in some way. The notion that you can somehow protect yourself from this is fairly absurd. Hackers are more and more sophisticated every day, and websites and banks are almost always one or two steps behind because they're more interested in PROFIT than in securing YOUR money! They'll charge you fees for everything, but where are they on shelling out BIG MONEY to hire the best and the brightest at HIGH salaries to protect us?
At this point. I fully expect that there are three or four of "me" running on rampant spending sprees. Hopefully I won't be communicating with all of you from jail, in the near future. Isn't it just wonderful how YOU are responsible for someone stealing your identity from a CORPORATE site that is NOT fully secure? Now that is FUNNY! I guess the Big Boys are NEVER responsible for anything!

Can agree with some of this, but c'mon man....we have fostered this idea of no one is accountable for anything. When you take such and spread it around like jelly on toast, did anyone expect a different outcome ?
Obamacare's web site still isn't secure, yet millions still provide personal information. Even when it's a well known fact a website isn't secure, people still float out all their info on it. So who's the idiot ? Take Facebook too, the amount of info people put on that thing staggers me at times that people can be so dumb.
When you foster this victim mentality, everyone's a victim....no personal responsibility/accountability, that will work it's way into all aspects of life. Granted, you yourself or a corporate entity can only do as much as technology allows. Some of these hackers are on the cutting edge a few steps ahead of even our best security. In a day when the majority of the entire worlds wealth rests in the digital domain, the thieves then can work from anywhere in the world and hide their identity. It's a growing problem, and we need the best and brightest to combat it.
As far as them losing YOUR money, may be true but they also have something to lose. Your faith in leaving your money with them. Once that's gone, you seek other alternatives. Can't have that now can we. So they create laws to penalize you for seeking those alternatives while leaving in loop holes to protect themselves and their money. It's called capital controls, and for the first time in our history some have gone into affect July 1st. of this year. Won't hear that on the 5 o'clock news though.
IMHO, you have to, absolutely have to, separate the financials and the politics. Unfortunately we have done a bang up job of combining the 2.HT SYSTEM-
