All new to me, and room for 2000 CD's (doubt I'll ever reach that, but I'm ripping like a mad man anyway and even as a filler (I'm sorry) Miley Cyrus won't be on my external hard drive!! Any one artist you feel the same way about, and no offense meant if we have any MC fans here, Say..you???

More than likely I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't like at least some of the artists work. With that said, that is what I use my CD player for now, to audtion a CD and determine if it is good enough to be included on the HD for the file player.
Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes

Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
    Three 20 amp circuits.

you didn't grow up with my parents. I had enough Hank Snow, Hank Williams, Fats Domino, Roy Acuff need I go on? I had enough of this in my youth that it left a very sour taste in my mouth or was it a vourp= vomit+burp. Sorry but to this day it (country music) just makes my ears want to run away from my head.

Interesting. Many people end up embracing the stuff they grew up on. Kinda like voting. Im not telling you what to like and your examples are not the best country has to offer, just seems like a huge genre to discount. I cant stand most rap, but i kinda like the black eyed peas and some older hip hop. Shades of grey ya know.

Kanye West for two reasons, I'm not interested in his music......and I most definitely don't want to in any way contribute to him or the Kardashians taking up any more of my news page space or my TV channels.

I can listen and own some "very little" gangster rap. Ice T,snoop dog,Dr. Dre and the or course 2 live crew just because it was banned:smile:

I also didn't take up smoking 2pk a day cigarettes or a taste for lots of whiskey.

I grew up with Mancini and Mantovani. I can listen to a little of a lot of music but Disco and Rap are out. Not a big fan of country either except for Johnny Cash.

While I generally like most any music, I could never wrap my head around gospel or rap...what a pair eh? I do have 1 Coolio disc, and DO admit to loving "Rappers Delight" from the 70's.

I'm late to the Country scene, and don't care for "twangy" (bluegrass/old) country; I like modern country, and have been focusing on buying country music lately---because I can't find anything else I care for.

Being a native city boy (STL) who hated country as a kid, I never thought I would end up liking it.

    Probably better not say.
Then again the late great Sam Kinison once said " I like the kind of music" that kicks you in the "badword" teeth. Kinda lean towards Sam's statement myself from time to time, and at my age. Oh the shame....;)

Vanilla Ice, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Brittney Spears, Adele (<<< only because of the recording quality), Christina Aguilera, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Kid Rock, Will.I.Am or however you spell it, the New Kids on the block, the singer who sang "It's a small world after all" (would like to personally duct tape/super glue her mouth shut), Bette Midler, Cher, Tupac Shakur, Selena Gomez, whoever sings that "I'm so happy" song, did I mention Vanilla Ice? Paris Hilton, my wife (sorry, Kim), Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, Lindsey Lohan, Michael Bolton, Jessica Simpson, Pink, William Hung (definitely William Hung), are you sure I mentioned Vanilla Ice?

Man, this list could take me days.....weeks. We can just block together any artist that sings rap and opera, with the sole exception of Eminem.

I hear ya on The Big Hass!! Thanks to our resident computer "Genius" and wonderful person "westmassguy" David took the time to set me with a seagate exrernal 2TB HD and took the time to make it work with my set up. Without him in my journey there's no way I would be doing what I am doing with this today. On his end...I know he has shown nothing but true kindness and patience, as I am as dumb as they come on a computer. I can't believe I'm even doing what I am. Huge thanks to David. A true brother,

really? the "pop" in pop music meaning "popular", you are claiming your collection has NO popular music? that is very interesting......

While I do like the music which was the roots of metal, and certain bands along the vein of The Melvins, straight modern metal just makes my teeth grind. Slayer/Pantera/Testament et al will never be on my drive.
