You could definitely tell the pilot was directed by benicio del toro, as it was more like the depth and quality of a movie, but the subsequent episodes have so far held my interest even though this kind of thing is not my cup of tea anymore, I mean after starting with bela and boris as a kid and seeing all the horror and monster interpretations since im a little jaded.

Series is pretty good so far, curious to see where it goes.

Been watching it from the start. Pretty good so far. The sub-plot with the split, and child custody has no business being in it, but otherwise pretty interesting take on vampires.

The wife and I have been watching The Strain and The Last Ship. Both are pretty good and will continue watching. What I hate though is you get interested in a series and then the network cancels it.

You could definitely tell the pilot was directed by benicio del toro, ...

That's Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labryinth, Hellboy, Pacific Rim, etc)...Benicio is the actor from Usual Suspects, Snatch, Traffic, etc.

BTW, Yes, I am watching the show and loving it. I love the new twist on vampires. They are truly monsters, not romanticized like Bram Stoker, Anne Rice, and the others have done.

leave it to me to screw up a compliment.

BTW, direct has a channel called El Rey on channel 341.

It has a lot of old obscure cool movies, i watched "ELECTRAGLIDE GLIDE IN BLUE"with robert blake, long before we knew what a weirdo he was, really an excellent movie.

They also have a show hosted by Robert Rodriguez, called directors chair, he has many of the great directors, and plenty of time to discuss in depth their movies and methods.

    well worth checking out

Anybody stick with it through the first season? Season finale was last night. I liked it and thought it was pretty well done. The Master seems too cartoonish for me but all in all, the other stuff seems pretty "realistic". And the finale of this show coincides with the season premiere of "The Walking Dead" next week.....can't wait!!!!

Great show, and it's been renewed for next season. Have to agree the "Master" looks like an evil clown or something. They could have done a much better job on his appearance.
