CRS+ or 2Bs which ones to TL first?

I have finished my Home Theater revamp and now it's time to put money aside for something I have been wanting to do for quite sometime that being tl mod my SDA'S which pair would any of you do first a pair of Crs+s, with original stands, or 2b studios, the full monty will be done on them so I'm just curious as to which any of you would choose and why one over the other?

P.S. I do have two pair of CRS+s if I effed something up I got spare parts! I also could have VR3 do my crossovers on one and Westmassguy do the crossovers on the other ones. So fellow Polkies opinions please.

I would do the pair you listen to more often.

With that said, I think it is a toss up between those speakers. The CRS+ image better with the wider MW spacing like the SRS line has, but the 2b tends to have more bass output in most settings due to cab volume.

Steve, I agree with Dennis. You should do the ones you listen to more often first. However, personally, I'd PREFER that you do the CRS+s first since I've done the 2Bs already myself and would like to hear your impressions of what the TL mod does for the CRS+.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Soniccraft.com is having a "20% Off Everything" (with a few exceptions) sale right now that includes the Gen I Sonicaps and the Mills resistors!!!! So, if you're ready to jump, you could save some good coin. Careful though, they tend to end their sales with as little warning (ie. NONE!) as when they start them.

I havent done my 2b's but what ive read its amazing results

If they're both 4th generation, the crossovers are identical, and should cost the same to rebuild. The 2Bs will go deeper once everything is upgraded, including the sub-bass drive inductors. This is due to the larger cabinet and PR. The CRS+s are thought by some to have a wider sound stage than the 2Bs.

Thanks for the opinions guys Since I can only afford one pair at a time it is a hard decision. The 2bs are ran off a Adcom 555II and adcom pre and the components are a Marantz CD5004 Denon tape deck and Tecnics turntable, the 2bs sound fantastic, although I must admit the SL 2000 can get a little fatiguing at times.

THE CRS+'s are ran off an Adcom 545II an Adcom Pre, components are a Marantz CD 5003 Technics tape deck, a pioneer turntable sounds just as good to my ears as the other, however I do notice a tad more SDA effect on both pairs of them. It is a hard decision, I do have 3, 2 channel rigs hooked up in the house so depending where I am at is where I listen so I can't really say which ones I listen to more. How do I tell what generation my SDA's are they are all pin blade and I believe the 2b studios were some of the last SDA's produced. Thanks again everyone.

Then all three pairs are 4th generation then, the 2 Bs are immaculate the cabs and grills like New, the CRS+s have a few minute scratches here and there the grills are in good shape, however I would do the cabs to look like nspindels I would strip them myself and have a buddy who owns a countertop shop he could veneer them for me. So it's good to know the crossovers are identical. Would I need Gimpods boards on these then?
