Hey guys, so I'm trying to hook up my subs and amp in my room using the computer psu method.
These are my subs: http://www.polkaudio.com/products/db1222
And this is my amp: Hifonics BRX2000.1D
My question is how much power does my psu have to have to run my system?
I've attached the amp specs.

If you really insist on going this route, you'd be best off just getting a car battery and a big cap... then use the psu to keep the battery charged. You won't have a + lead cable on any psu with wire capable of supporting the amperage needed to "run" that car stereo amp. Perhaps a 1500 watt single rail, 80amp might be able to make it function half way, but guessing not. An amp like that draws alot more juice than a trio of overclocked graphics cards.Home Theater- 5.1/DTS bliss-- Source: Sony BDP-S790; Pre/Pro: Golden Theater GTX-1; Amplifiers: Golden Theater GTA-1; Speakers: Main: RTi6's, Center: RTi6's, Surround: RTi12's, Sub: KSW-12Video: RCA Scenium rear projection 52" @ 1080i.

Consumer grade computer power supplies will not provide enough current on the 12 volt rails to power that amp. You may be able to locate a commercial grade power supply that may supply some of what you need, but the price will be well above $1K. If you want to use those automotive subs in your home, look for a used pro amp. My Carver PM-350 will provide 450 watts/channel @ 4 or 2 ohms. You could power each 2 ohm woofer off a separate channel.Home Theater/2 Channel:

He's trying to do a home sub on the cheap by using car audio components.
Maybe if stuff was already laying around collecting dust I could understand at least attempting, but for what that amp costs, you could have an iNuke 3000 and do it the right way. For what those subs cost you could just about have a nice 18 and a flat pack for the box. Surely nobody is buying this stuff new with the idea of using it in the home.
