Turn on "POP"

Please note: This was NOT my wiring!

My HU pwr. is running through the headlight switch. No lights = No tunes. I can live w/ this for now, but I'm getting a "POP" if I turn on the HU. This only happens when I completly power off the HU, turn on lights and then pwr up HU again (ex: Pwr off HU then truck. Then start truck, lights on, HU on= "POP". If I could always leave the faceplate or HU pwr on I wouldn't have a prob. But I can't. WTF? Ground loop? POP seems to only be coming from mids/tweets or just tweets. Not sure that I want to chase down the splice to headlights yet. I've looked everywhere & the only place it can be is buried in BEHIND everything. Any ideas? Thanks guys! jakedubb

    Oops! What a jackass!

OK here's one for ya.........Whatcha think about this set-up?

    Receiver: Harmon Kardon AVR40
Cd: Harmon Kardon FL8300, and an old Pioneer CLD-M301 Laserdisk/CD
    DVD: Fischer
Rear speakers: Polk Audio RT5 Loudspkrs
Center: Polk Audio (not sure what model) has 1 6" mid. & 1 tweet. Bought new about 2 yrs. ago. Was a "demo" so no paper wrk.
Sub: Polk Audio PSW505 (This is my latest addition).
Main Spkrs: Heresy by Klipsch Loudspeaker Syst. These are crazy "Oldschool"! Just had them re-coned, re-wired and new covers. They include a 15" sub, short horn mids & tweets. Original info. tag signed by the "Tester".
Amp: Nothin!.......As of yet! Buhahahaha! Just the Harmon Kardon.

Wiring: Audioquest? Whatever it is it's badass! Looks to be about 0guage or so. I switched to these wires and about sh...my pants it sounded 10000000% better! Orig had 8guage AR, no comparison! Has anyone heard of Audioquest? I must be a newbie.

This may be nothing to some systems but it blows EVERYBODY away when they listen.

Remote is a new Sony AVR RM3000

What do you suggest for an addition? Amp?

Doesn't sound right. A friend owned Heresy's that I admired and they weren't much over 15" wide...
    More later,
