Most bizarre problem I have had

I have an older Panasonic Viera 720p TV. I run a Roku box into it. This problem occurred with a the 2nd gen and now the 3rd gen box.
In the middle of watching/streaming a show, there is a pop and the TV shuts down. When I turn it on, I get a red blinking power light. I have researched and read up on the "blinking light issue." May be linked to a power board (thingy).
However, if I unplug the TV and plug back in, it works again. This happened a couple times in the past.
Today, it happened again.....except after restarting the TV and the program, when I got back to the same point in the show/stream, it did it all over again. I was on Huluplus. So, I switched over to watch the same program on Amazon. When it got to the same point in the same show, it shut down again. I never tried this in the past.
I could see how some bad data stream thingy could cause the TV to shut down, but from two different providers?
Ideas?
