Need patient guidance regarding woofer replacement

May have located a source willing to part out his Fried Model Qs. How complicated is replacing a woofer in a 2 way? I'm assuming it involves removing the cosmetic ring, unscrewing the speaker and de-soldering two leads? Then of course, reversing the steps to install. Anything else of which I need to be aware?

Most speakers use quick connectors which negates the solder/desoldering.

but you laid out the steps to most all much older speakers.

I would also check the gasket, make sure it's intact and re-usable.

By gasket, do you mean that there is a gasket (caulking?) in between the baffle and the speaker basket?

I would hope there's something there to seal it. Could be fiber, foam, or rope caulk.
