    Doing some serious listening this afternoon. Classical stuff on sacd. Most of my upgrades so far have been mechanical and cosmetic except for the new tweets. The biggest upgrade to me so far is the Amp/Pre combo. The amount of headroom seems limitless... The A21 with the SDA's is an incredibly smooth yet dynamic combination. I am peaking at 101dB and am wondering what a symphony orchestra would produce on the SPL meter during a concert inside the prime zone. The mechanical mods (dynmatting,larry's rings, sonic barrier etc.) have really improved the sonics of the SDA's...everything sounds very tight and accurate (to me) and I would attribute that to the cabinets and drivers being less resonant. I am definitely enjoying this rabbit hole project and appreciate the research and knowledge that has been shared in the forum by all of those who have contributed. Having had everything out of the cabinets and performing all the mods and now sitting here listening to the fruits of my labor and expenditures was definitely worth all the strange looks, rolling of the eyes and questioning over when I was going to clean that **** up is definitely rewarding . I am sure I am telling a lot of you something you already know but am really ecstatic over the results of my journey to SDA nirvana. I am sure the VR3 treatment will also bring more positive results.

    Once you've experienced the SDA Magic, it's difficult to pull back and head in another direction. SDA's are certainly not for everyone, but, I enjoy mine on a daily basis and it sounds like you are also!

    I've pretty much done the same mods to my2.3tl's and have to agree on the improvements.Westmassguy did my crossovers and just today I installed the new binding posts,bought a soldering station and practiced a little but everything went great.I am also enjoying this journey.It makes it even better when you try to do what you can on your own,but if it were not for this forum I wouldn't be where I'm at now.Enjoy the ride!PS I've heard the same from the the better half.

    So I installed the new VR3 crossovers, binding posts/plates, new speakon IC cable tonite..Pretty easy install... plugged everything back in and seem to have got it all correct. (hey that's one in a row).

    I'm listening at a sub reference levels as it is past 11 here in the east.

    WOW **** WOW!

    I am hearing detail that I haven't heard before and I immediately notice that the hi end is sweet and incredibly pure. The rd0194's were in with the old xovers but they didn't sound close to how they sound now.

    Overall sound quality is very much improved as the bass really "feels" warm and punches you in the core when it should.

    I know i need to let them settle for a while and will run them for a number of days to do so... can't wait to crank'em tomorrow!

    Snagged a really nice like new pair of MIT Shotgun S3s speaker cables from CSTMAR01 ... Thanks Chris!

    Man they are fat and sweet... Bringin out more detail for sure. Vocals are perfect and the soundstage grew too.

    They look as new and I know they sound better than that. It's obvious that your gear has to look good, as well as sound good, nothing wrong with that equation!
