Infinity RS-II's - what to dynamat if anything/ re-gasket?

So as we all know, I scored a set of Infinity RS-II's off Scotty in Georgia.

They are at my house and finally have a system around them, but are still a work in progress.

I need to refoam all 4 woofers (2 dont really need it but I may do them anyway) and clean the poly drivers and do a bit o' soldering (EMIT connections broke on one dipole and are coming loose on another.

All in all they sound quite good (yes the bubble wrap surrounds do work, but sound like crap).

Here are my questions:

1. They have 2 10" low range drivers per speaker. Should I dynamat those drivers?

2. They have 3 mid range drivers that are open baffle. Should I dynamat those drivers as well?

3. Should I re-gasket the speakers using armacell that I have on-hand? I dont see anywhere the gaskets on these are bad for sure, but didnt know if given their age I should just go ahead and do it since I have the material on-hand.

I Dynamatted my low and mid drivers and applied Armacell in my Rsb. The baskets are huge on these 10" drivers, lots of metal to resonate.

Dynamat the woofers and mids, but be especially careful on the woofers. Those clear poly cones will show any Dynamat hanging over the basket frame. I'd also replace the woofer gaskets, and while everything is open, pull the stuffing and re-seal the lower cabinets with Loctite Power Grab Clear Acrylic. If the mids have gaskets, it's probably there to mitigate any vibrations or resonances, so not a bad idea to replace them if originally equipped. Consider Hurricane Nuts and Machine Screws for the woofers too.

Yeah I figured if I dynamat them to leave some of the basket undone so do smaller strips so its not 100% covered, but then you wont see any hanging over.

The woofer gaskets will get replaced then as well as the mids.

I can reseal the cabinets but not 100% as the xover is made to be removeable from the backside of the woofer box. But I will go ahead and reseal everything else. The cabinets are 1" thick or more.

I've been VERY impressed with the build quality of the speakers overall.

The crossover panel should have it's own gasket, which should be changed as well. A large section of the back panel comes off, which the crossover components are mounted to, point to point as I recall.

Yes, I've already pulled the first one. The second one wouldn't come out so I will need to access it from the backside.

You might consider Hurricane nuts for the back panels as well

If your talking about the woofers, for now I think I will hold off. I've got enough on my plate with these without doing that. The woofers actually were very well adhered to the speaker and I had to take a putty knife to pry them loose. I am thinking they will be fine if I just re-gasket them with armacell.

Just saw your PM and replied. Thanks much! Hope your IIIb's clean up nice and are easier to refoam than these babies lol
