DSW Pro 600 Not Working

The light on the back will not illuminate and it doesn't make any sounds. The fuse is good and I checked the current of the red and black wires past the on/off switch and it's getting 120. I also checked the power cord and it is good. What else could it be? If it's a board is that something I can buy and replace?

How old is it? Still under warranty? Authorized dealer?

Recently had a problem with my DSWpro600. It was make strange noises and then the red fault light just came on and stayed on. Determined it needed to have the amp replaced on it. If you purchased from a Polk dealer I would give there customer service department a call 800-377-7655. Yours may still be under warranty depending on when you purchased it.

Both my DSW's have gone out, my 500, and 600 about a month after fixing the 500, after that I'm done with Polk subwoofers, I can honestly say this is one area where Polk doesn't thrive at its best.. I'm going SVS, I just haven't pulled the trigger on them yet as my HT rig sits for the most part during the summer..

I guess that's one thing that bummed me about the DSW's they really don't have a lot of hours on them, yes I purchased them in 2009 but still for something I used mostly once a week to watch a movie or two, and that was mostly during the winter, they should still be alive. Hell even the cheap Polk sub I purchased back in 2000 at Circuit City still worked in 2009 before I passed it down to someone else to use..

End of rant, bring on the SVS's!!!

I bet if you pull the amp out you will see where it's burnt on the board, both of mine did the same thing. Yes you can get a replacement but it won't be the same board but it will work, they will sell you a 650 or something like that, and if I remember it will be about $300 maybe a little less, that's why I said screw it I will just purchase something better..

5-6 years old. I doubt it's under warranty. Looks like Polk only covers subs for 3 years. I don't remember where I bought it but I think it was online.

Yep, I see a burnt spot at a resistor. Has anyone tried a replacement plate amp from parts express? I can't find where to buy a polk replacement.

Have you tried contacting Polk customer service? Their repair rates are very reasonable.

Yeah you need to call them if you want a replacement, like I said it won't be a 600 but it will work, that is unless they find one somewhere in their stock but that wasn't the case for me..

They won't repair it, once the board is burnt they will just replace it, your better off saving your money in shipping your old one in for them to look at it, and just have them send you a replacement..

Alright toolfan66 you are beginning to make me consider a different sub instead of having my amp replaced. What are you considering?

It's weird. You haven't called them and you are already considering a (more expensive) replacement. Yes, they replace boards instead of replacing burned parts. They don't replace the entire amp. You send them your plate amp, they replace failed board and send you a fixed amp. I have done it multiple times with different manufacturers - be it Polk, NHT, Velodyne, etc, even JVC.
