Shifted Magnet

Is there any outward appearance of a shifted magnet? Does the cone just not push in and out? I have one 6511 that I think has shifted.

If the cone does not move that is called a frozen voice coil. If the cone moves but is stiff and you hear a scratching sound that is also a damaged voice coil. Some Polkies have had success repairing them, but as for me I just buy a replacement.

Magnet shift is the same symptoms. If the voice coil is frozen or if it does move but interferes with the magnet (scratchiness)"Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."
