John, I've always wondered this... do in-wall speakers image as well as a normal speaker? With floorstander or bookies, you guys are always saying to pull them out away from the walls and angle them in for proper sound and imaging. Can you put an angle on in-wall speakers? I've never seen behind their grills, so I didn't know if they are mounted at a certain angle or pitch, or are adjustable in some way.

It is a question I wish I could answer. I have not even got drywall up in my room yet, but I did plan a bit ahead when I wired it up. I have 4 AB700's, 2 AB800's and a pair of RTA-8's that will be used in wall for now, and I am looking for more all the time. For HT use, in-wall should do nicely, but I would never consider them for stereo. My rig is being built for two channel first and everything else second.

So will your two main speakers be out on the floor and everything else be in-wall?

Yes... the mains are Polk SDA-SRS 1.2TL's with full mods and the rest are these...

This grouping should do well especially for voice matching. I am told I can mod the crossovers for the RDo-198's:smile:
