I know they are older cables, but also know they were barely used by previous owner, for what thats worth.
Just replaced my old cables, basically a mishmosh of fair to good cables.
the music sounds wonderful right now, right now "Gaucho" is playing.
But in between songs, its almost like a low level wind is blowing outside, truly noticeable as never before with other cables.
I am exaggerating a bit, but it is def. noticeable.
I will definitely put up with it for the noticeable diff in richness and clarity when songs are playing, just wondering.
My Rega Rp1 TT will definitely be on the sell/trade upgrade block this fall if the house cash out refi goes through and a little cash is available, as well as a possible trip to a good audio shop for the sonic frontiers sfl1 pre for a once over.
Dont get me wrong, these have performed flawlessly, and the pre was barely used before the poor guy who owned it met a tragic end, looks and operates like it came out of box, but there are caps and such in there, and time is not good to those, even if they look new.
It just seems since IC change, more has been exposed, some magic, the music is 2 steps above, but surface noise is 1 step above.
Or is an investment in a vac equipped vinyl cleaner more in order/
I know this is long winded, but after a docs visit yesterday, plus all night in emergency room waiting for a cortisone epidural has me feeling good for awhile, and while i can sit and feel like talkin gear im gettin it in.
Thanks for your patience, and, as always, any personal experience is gratly appreciated.

P.S, for the first time in a long time, since changing these ICs, i can make out so many more words in the songs that were just garble before, always chalked it up to my old ears, nice unexpected surprise.

Audioquest builds cables correctly. They learned a very long time ago the basic elements that are required to get the job done.

IME, solid copper conductor IC's tend to be very revealing. I assume the Rubies are solid copper?Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

yes they're solid PSC/FPC copper same as the Diamondback but 20yrs old. -
"Everything Matters".
Like, most MM phono cartridges are some what sensitive to the total capacitance of the cable and the pre-amp input stage. So a different cable might change that system high frequency peak. -
