Could a PSW350 be used as a good mid base module to supplement a hsu vtf3-mk4?

All,

I have my old psw350 boxed up in the basement collecting dust and was wondering if it would be good to be used as a mid-base module. Now I know it is really underpowered, but heck since it is sitting around why not try. my only concern is that I don't
think that there is any way to limit the sub from playing less that 50hz. Your thoughts?

It would require an active crossover network to give you a bandpass signal to use it as a upper range mid bass woofer, but it could be done. The 350 was actually one of Polk's better subwoofers in its day. I still use one in my living room rig with RTi towers.

Why....would you want to use it as a mid bass module ? The HSU isn't enough for you....the RTI 7's ? If not, then re-think your speakers and or sub. Maybe an amp would help bring out more of those 7's too.

    Tonyb and nbrowser,

I am not sure you can have enough base when it comes to watching movies. I love my vtf3-mk4 it is amazing. Just thinking that a MBM would make the theater room even better.

    nbrowser,

Thanks for the advice. I will look into it. I have considered an amp and I should probably consider it more. I appreciate the time that you put into your responses. Thanks!

    nbrowser,

What do you think about this amp? The Parasound HCA-1205A? would 140 w/ch be a huge enough change over my current setup?
