Hi guys. I don't usually do feeler threads, but this Jolida tube CD player has a slight issue with the disc tray (sometime it doesn't close all the way, I showed it to Marvda and he knows what I'm talking about. It didn't close completely the first time, but worked flawlessly afterward).
Other than that the CD player is in good shape.
I'm the second owner. I bought it from a polkie a few years ago.
I have the original tubes (it came with upgraded with Svetlana tubes installed if I remember correctly), the remote (never used it, always been using my Harmony/Logitech remotes), but I don't think I have the original box anymore.

I'm thinking of selling it for $400+shipping.

I'd prefer selling it locally in DFW, so the buyer can see first hand the issue and listen to it.

If anybody knows how to fix the issue (I guess replacing the belt) I'd appreciate. I asked Jolida about fixing it and they asked $100. I passed because I'm not really using it (no time to dedicate to music listening anymore :( )

As many times as I had mine apart doing mods you'd think I would know the answer, but for the life of me I can't remember.

Anyway, still a nice sounding player that very well could be your end game.

I've been very happy with my Jolida player. Upgrading the tubes to Mullards and a pangea 14se power cord helped as well.

I was very happy with it too. It's just I don't have time to dedicate to pure listening anymore and thus I'm just not using it :(

No time to listen to music? Sounds like an awful place to be! Everyone needs some tune time now and then or else we might see them on the evening news.

That said. Great CDP, I have a newer model Jolida and it's not going anywhere. And a NICE price too. Someone should move on this.

    Worth fixing, but GLWTS anyway!

Ricardo? Good man! Haven't seen him post in a while.

I meant I don't have time for serious listening, because I prefer to spend my little free time gaming.

Now I listen to music only at work or in the car :( .

    What's a "feeler thread"?

    Sounds kind of perverted.

i think I read somewhere that this problem is caused by one of the teeth on a plastic glog not being cut cleanly. there is a piece of plastic still on one of the teeth that you can cut off with a scalpel to fix the problem.

did you have the cd drawer open when you were inside? i would think it would have to be close to the drawer mechanism to control the tray.

The gears are under the tray, so if you look up from the bottom and inside the tray opening you will be able to sort of see them. The only real way to inspect them is to remove the entire transport. That said, I've never heard of the gear teeth issue mentioned. It's much more likely that the belt needs replacing and the price Jolida gave you would indicate a simple belt replacement.

    Yeah, I think you're right.

This is Jolida's reply to the email that I sent a few weeks ago:

"Yes, we can service the JD100. The cost should be $100 for labor and maybe $75 for a new transport or servo board depending on the problem. If sending to us for service, please pack the unit up and include a piece of paper with your name, address, phone number and description of the problem."

It's just I don't feel comfortable spending about $200 without knowing that I'll be able to sell it for sure afterward :(

OK, given that it'll cost almost $200 to fix it I'll lower the price to $300+shipping
