So i've had this pair of Martin Logan Electromotion ESL's for a few months now and I absolutely love them, however my wife does not. She said if I REALLY want to keep them I can, or if I sell them I can put a good chunk of change towards some new (prettier) speakers so how can I pass that up?

They are absolutely MINT condition, honestly I think they're 10/10 as I can't find a single thing wrong with them. I have the original boxes, covers, plastic bags that come over the covers, and even the little plastic straps that go outside the boxes. They're less than a year and half old and were purchased from Magnolia. They're 91db efficient at 6ohms and are surprisingly easy to drive and sound incredible with my 80wpc iNova.

I'm perfectly willing to ship since i've got all the original packing materials. I'm asking $1600 + shipping and i'll accept paypal gift. I haven't seen a cheaper price on them anywhere online. If they don't sell i'm just going to keep them and she can deal with it.

Sorry it's the only pic I currently have of them, I can email more if interested.
Here's a link to all the info: http://www.martinlogan.com/electromotion/em-esl.php

Keep em man!! I have the Vista and there is little to no diff at a moderate volume. The Source were a diff story, every time you stood up the sound stage would collapse. The electromotion really respond well to Mcintosh amplification and the mids and bass really get more gusto and it totally sweetens up the that glorious top end.

Yeah I really do like them a lot, I think I might sell the iNova and try something new. Honestly i'm 100% happy with its performance, I was shocked at how well it can drive these but I just have some birthday money burning a hole in my pocket haha. I'd love to get into Mcintosh but think it'll be a little out of my price range for now, thinking $1500 range so i should have a few options if I go used.

That iNova isn't doing those speakers justice, you definitely need to get them on better gear before making a final decision. You can do better for the money than McIntosh unless you find a great price on one, you're paying a high premium for the name.

Yeah I knew that when I got them, however it really does sound great. Very warm laid back sounds pairs nicely and it doesn't seem to struggle a bit, but the ESLs are also a lot easier to drive than most ML's. The problem is going from the iNova to separates is i'd have to buy a dac, preamp, amp, and ic's. I'd like to stick with another integrated + dac i think just for simplicity, but it's hard to find for $1500ish.

Does the iNova have preamp outputs, why not just use those with a better amp?

If your gona get a new amp then get something that can fry an egg. The high current class a amps really bring out the best in electrostats. Maybe a nice older krell with a tube pre or a threshold amp with an old pam krell pre. Not alot of money and alot of performance with some of the older high end stuff.

I thought about it, i'm using the preamp outs for my sub currently. I've got about $700 to spend, and was going to try to sell the iNova for $800 and start fresh just to try something new. I really like the new Rotel 1570 integrated with built in Dac, I think i'm at least going to give it a demo.

Rotel and Martin Logan is not a good idea, you'l see what I mean if you try thier amps. I have went through 3 of them and tried will all diff combo's or preamps and the result was the same. The highs were not so good with below par separation, you can really notice a piece of equipment's flaws that might otherwise be hidden or masked with the nature of crossovers on cone speakers.

I also thought about a Nad 375bee w/Dac, shouldn't have any issues in the power department but i'm not sure how good it'll sound with them. I've also thought about the Parasound new classic separates or used Halo gear. Honestly the easiest most convenient solution would be the Outlaw 975 processor and two of their mono blocks, it'd have all the options I need (sub out, dac, power) but i'm worried about the sound quality and if it'd be up to par.

Interesting, i've ran across that one before and it could definitely be an option. I had reservations about class d amps with the Logans, but I love the sound from my SC-35 and I feel like they kind of get a bad wrap.

The other one i've been eyeing is the new Peachtree Nova 125se, it'd give about 160 watts into 6ohms and is in my price rage.
