Is 130 wats per stereo channel fits my LSI 707's?

Sorry for my non-native English...
I've bought the GREAT 707's. I already have the ONKYO TX-NR 828 av receiver - rated as 130 watts per channel.
As far as I know, it is recommended having close to 200 watts per channel for boosting the 707's
Q1: I am not close to the high volume level of the 130watts receiver. Is it noticeable for not an audiophile the difference between 130w and 200w receiver?
Q2: In the receiver set-up, I have only 2 options for selecting the speaker impedance - 4owm or 6owm (the 707's impedance are 8owm)/ DOES IT CRITICAL? what should be the influence for this wrong set up?
THANKS
Avner

Rarely will an AVR actually reach it's rated power, even in stereo mode. Generally speaking, amp power is like money. It is better to have to much instead of too little. Are you sure about those speaker selection options? Usually, it is 8 ohm and 6 ohm, since an AVR will, generally, have a hard time with 4 ohm loads.

Honestly if you're only running a 2 channel setup i'd go with something better than that Onkyo, it's not doing the Lsim's justice. I'd go with a nice integrated amp or separates and a good dac. It will work but you're limiting their potential quite a bit. Welcome to the forum.

Minimum 200wpc from a separate amp will be about 11 times better than the Onkyo alone.

Get a Bel Canto integrated or separates, the 707's like them.

    Thanks! grate forum
I prefer not to choose a 2 channel amp, I choose an AVR - 7.1 set-up, DLNA and a good app control.
I have to take this compromise..
Any recommendation for about 200wpc 7.1/9.1 channel AVR?

Maybe I should use the AVR as a pre-amp for the 707's? is it possible? recommend?

Yes, use the Onkyo as a Pre amp, so long as it has pre-outs you can run a two channel amp just for the mains. This will take a load off the AVR to power the other speakers and give your mains he needed current.

There isn't one made with that kind of power.

I think one of the most powerful ones is the Yamaha RX-Z9, it's been discontinued for some time, but did have 170x7, which is still not much compared to may separate receivers at 200+wpc.

You have just spent several thousand dollars on speakers, don't cheap out on the power, spend another thousand on an amplifier, you won't regret it.

Powering expensive speakers with just a lowly AVR is like putting high performance racing tires on your stock geo metro, you'll never get your moneys worth or realize their full potential.

I think that is your best bet. A nice AVR with full set of pre-outs + a external amp

I use a Adcom 5503 to power my front 3 speakers as its a 200wpc x3. leaving my AVR to gives its full 120 wpc with 2 driven to my 2 surround speakers.

If you are dead set on an avr with power, go with a Cambridge Audio 751R. Will give a true 200wpc for 2ch into 6 ohms. About 2600 bucks though.

Yes that's what I would do if you want more power.
and since you going to do that set your sites on 300 watts per channel @ 8ohms.
Report back how big a difference it make for you at moderate volumes (80db) .
Me I am looking at this unit below but I don't think it will make a lot of difference.
See I had at Carver TFM-25 hooked up and I did not notice any difference to just my 808.

I would look for a Bell laboratories amp. There are always very nice quicksilver mono block tube amps for $950 on audiogon.
