Who or what is the best movie villain of all time? Why?

Joseph Wiseman, the actor who played Bond villain Dr. No, recently passed. Without the villain, spy movies, action films, and many others would fall short. So, in your opinion, who (or what) is the best movie villain of all time, and why?

Robert Mitchum as either Max Cady in the original "Cape Fear", or the deranged preacher in "Night of the Hunter."

Robert DeNiro in the remake of "Cape Fear", or Javier Bardem in "No Country For Old Men". Both of these characters as played by these actors were totally evil, very creepy.

Going to second the Javier Bardem "bad guy" from No Country For Old Men. Very sinister without trying to be. Sort of like a great white shark. Just doing what it is genetically programmed to do.

Kevin Spacey in Seven. Man, that one sat in my gut for a long while after seeing it.

And of course Darth Vader. No villain list is complete without him.

I must admit that the first time I saw "No Country For Old Men" my heart was racing. The man was pure evil and that is more frighting than any horror film.
Maybe, just maybe there is someone out there right now just like him. That's scary
