I spoke with polk's service department in cali. about a driver that I sent in early Nov. 2003 and was told they still cant get me a replacement and offered me the RTI 100s to replace my pair of RT 2000Ps. Is this a good trade and are they as good as the 2000Ps? Please someone let me know, thanks.

Just from a retail price position I would say NO. RT2000p retail $998 ea vs RTi100 @ $589 ea. Doesn't sound too good to me.

Which driver?

you should listen to the 100's and the 150's. Neither one is a perfect match. The 150 comes closer in price and has multiple subs like the 2000p, but the 100 is powered like the 2000p.
I would see which one I like better and then try to work that out with Polk CS.
I'm not sure, but I don't think your 2000p's are still under warranty. If that's the case, I would take whatever Polk is offering. If they're still under warranty, then you may have grouns for arguing for the 150s, if you want those.
Listen to both and see which you like better, you'll find varying opinions on here. A note about the 150s though, they WILL need more amplification than either the 2000p's or the 100s, becuase they don't have powered subs.
Hope this helps -
And to answer your question about the 100s sounding better than the 2000s, that's fairly subjective to many factors.
I personally like the 2000s and 3000s better than anything that Polk has released since (with the exception of the new LSi line), I just think they sound better. -
i had the same problem with my rt20p's thay said the same thing that they didnt make the drivers anymore and had my speakers for 3.5 months. they even offered up the rti100's to replace. i feel that they are not a even and fair trade, so i held out and finally got my speaker back all fixed up. just out of curiousity what drivers are not workin???? andy
