Just curious if the Polk DSW PRO 660 wi has a "volume/level protection circuit" My DSW 660 shutdown unexpectedly while playing music disk. "Shutdown" = sub volume setting dropped to zero while playing music at a fairly loud level. Was playing Blu-Ray disk "Return to Forever Returns", DTS-HD Master Audio, track 5= "Song to the Pharaoh Kings". Polk sub connected LFE via line out from Sony STR DA3300ES AVR and source player Yamaha BD-S473. Sub volume level was set to 28 (max is 40) and dropped to zero suddenly during the above track. The Polk user manual for the 660 does not refer to any shutdown circuit. I reset the volume to 20 and all fine since then. Just curious - anyone know?? Thanks John.

Hello,
Welcome to Polk's forum. If I remember correctly I believe that there are five different protection modes used, including overdriving the woofer.

Thank you Ken.
