Soundbar 3000, sub thumping on its own

Installed the Polk 3000 bar for my father in-law last Christmas time and now he says the sub is making a thumping noise all the time, he had had to unplug it, I'm going to look at it today.

I really hope I don't have the classic issues everyone seems to have, nothing has changed in the area with regards to wireless stuff.

Should i power down both bar and sub ?

Anyway to wire that sub in?

Who do I contact for Canada support?
