So...when I first posted about new set up I noticed a hum and vibration coming from the motor of the TT...you could feel it in the base...After 3 mins on a search I found the solution and it worked like a charm...she is dead quiet now...4 5/32 rubber washers and 2 #6 brass washers...stack 2 rubber and one brass on top under the 2 screws that hold the motor flanges...there is rubber under but not on top...this completely isolates the motor...
I called it raw when I first posted, that is completely gone...it sounds great...
also running a Herbies audio mat with the original metal platter...
Did they advertize some assembly required....glad things are clean on that end but does this shim set up change motor alignment to any degree. Be curious on any impressions you have on the new blue jean IC. -
Yeah, just keeping it level u will be ok... Its a known flaw i guess....Did not know about it before but I guess some vibrate and some don't...i have no idea how they all aren't...
so far so good on the blue jeans IC's...but I have a lot of things "burning or settling " in, whichever you prefer...speaker crossovers, stylus, and IC's....So it will be a while before i can really give a final thumbs up or down...
with all that said it sounds much better than my old table...Marantz 1152 DC- Denon DP 1200, Soundsmith Carmen MKII- ADS L980 - Blue Jeans IC's -
Glad to here things are improved. I think you've changed more in your system than even I have lately... hard to keep all sorted on the improved SQ front. I got some cables from Tonyb on forum for IC connection and need to evaluate them. Unfortunately it will require a lot of gear movement to plug and play
