and the need for a 630v cap is what? Do you understand the size difference? If you have the space no problem but ask yourself do I have the room for a softball in there.....

Ive used both I prefer the ESA'S if for no reason than the size.. they sound great either way the sa's are just too huge for most applications.

No, go back and read your original post. You did not ask for a comparison of Clarity Cap ESA: 630V vs. 250V

Is the above what you meant to ask for though?

No problem. Just wanted to clarify what you were looking for.

I have only used the 630V ESA's, so I cannot directly compare them to the 250V versions. I would think that only the size would be different between the two voltages. I highly doubt they would sound different unless you tried to run too much voltage through the 250V versions.

    well
    if we examine the 4.7uF:
    - SA 4.7uF 630v dim (35.0 x 46.0) = EUR 6.97
    - ESA 4.7uF 250v dim (25.0 x 33.0) = EUR 8.13

ESAs 250v are far superior to SA 630v and only cost a little more
So, are the ESA 250v recommended to SA 630v if you don't need 630v voltage ?

The ESAs are Clarity's High end Capacitor, aside from the MRs which are priced in the stratosphere. They are superior to the SAs.
250 volt rated caps are more than enough. If you're recapping vintage Polks, the existing Mylars are rated 100 volt, and the Electrolytics are rated 50 volts.

so if i don't need 630v requirements, for a slightly higher price, the ESA 250v are a must, right ?

    question :
but why claritycap has these two series (ESA 250v and SA 250v) almost at the same price but with more better performance for the ESA ?
this is not clear to me.

Clarity's line up, with increasing quality is: PX - SA - ESA - MR. Why the SAs and ESAs are that closely priced in the EU is anyone's guess.

I have experimented with several capacitors including the old Auricap, and new Auricap XO, which is not that
Much money and my last best value coupling ,capacitor, and for Xovers was the Obbligatto Gold.
The new Series Auricap-XO has better top end extention dig a bit deeper in detail and Bass has a little more control.
I was just having my Dared SL 2000A preamp completed only $140 for the 2-.22 input caps, and 4 -1.0 uf coupling caps
I am even going to upgrade the resistors
To a Mills type other improvements Hifi tuning 20 mm 3Aslow Supreme fuse, Herbies tender feet, and Titanium tube dampers
And Signal cable makes a nice high purity awg12Copper,Teflon power cord for a $125.
Tubes 6106-5y3 Bendix and Sylvanis 3 mica Gold series Black plates. I found a good electronics tech in Ma that redoes with all Mundorf Supreme solder like night and day when finished .my friend had his done last month. For less then $1,000
Total including unit will easilly go toe to toe at 3X it's cost.

I'll have to ask Polk IT to do that, there is already a "AroundTheSound" user name so it might not work.
