Rio Grand Mud was the finest piece that ZZ ever did...the slogan...The Little Ol Band From Texas That The Rest Of The Country Is Rapidly Discovering was no joke...they tore up every stage that they set foot on...often embarrassing the headliner whom the audience paid to see...but didn't anymore once ZZ started their set...awesome back in the very early years...

Msabot1: Rio Grande Mud and Tres Hombres are both full of great stuff. I feel about ZZ Top kinda like I feel about U2, I know some will disagree, but Boy and October I find to be their best albums. When those albums came out in 80 and 81 they were fresh and alive. I was lucky enough to pick up Boy right when it came out and I looked forward to their next album with great anticipation. Same with ZZ Top, they had a newness about them in the beginning, everybody I know played Mud and Tres ALL the time in high school. I've seen both bands live several times but their success made them less appealing to me. Although the last time I saw ZZ Top a few years ago, they played a whole bunch of early blues.

By the way, if anyone has a good copy of Santana's Havana Moon and Blues For Salvador on vinyl that they'd be willing to trade for other vinyl let me know.
  • The Cars on vinyl. I wanted something I knew quite well.
I hooked up the Bellari VP130 directly to a Emotiva UPA-200 amp.

One of my top 10 best recorded albums, as well as being a fantastic album. If you don't own this one, go buy the 30th anniversary CD now!

Japan needs to get on the ball and release this one on SHM-SACD.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Opened for Bob's silver bullet band...floored the crowd too...Saw them twice since..last they were promoting Hombres...nothing like em back in the day...no bs...just jammin...solid sets...
