I think Led Zep's Coda was released today 31 years ago. Not my favorite Zep album, but "I Can't Quit You Baby" was another killer blues song, which is on right now. And Jimmy Page is still the coolest guitarist on the planet.

    From Wikipedia:
The Friends of Mr Cairo is the second album by Jon and Vangelis, released in 1981. There are two editions of this album, with different sleeves. Both versions were released in 1981 within a few weeks of each other. The title track, "The Friends Of Mr Cairo", peaked at #1 on the Canadian singles late 1981, though this track was not a hit elsewhere. The second edition of the album includes the single "I'll Find My Way Home",(LP on right) which stayed for 14 weeks in the Swiss charts and peaked at #1 on March 7, 1982

In 1979 the album, titled Mick Taylor, was released by Columbia Records. The album material mixed rock, jazz and Latin-flavored blues musical styles. The album reached #119 on the Billboard charts in early August with a stay of five weeks on the Billboard 200. CBS advised Taylor to promote the album through American radio stations but was unwilling to back the guitarist for any supporting tour. Already frustrated with this situation, Taylor took a break from the music industry for about a year.

Phenominal album. ALL their albums are phenominal in fact. My favorite is "Private Collection" however.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

    Good evening group!!

Well, I am back in business with a new (to me) CD player to replace the dead Yamaha. After 4 frustrating days of looking, I found myself another Marantz Reference Series unit today. This one cost me just a bit over my budget I had set, but I still practically stole this $1500 msrp unit. This one happens to be a player and recorder, model number DR-17. While it doesn't play SACD/DVD-Audio discs, it does decode HDCD's (which I have a lot of!). In fact, it is rare in that it can also record HDCD data from one machine to it, apparenty not many CD recorders did this. This machine has the typical Marantz Reference Series high build quality, and it reminds me a lot of my old SA-11S1 in that regard. More pics to come later, including nudies...

Glad to see you weren't down all that long. Welcome back !!!!
