Gotta love Vince. I've been on a Jazz kick myself lately, mostly some Dave Brubeck with the occasionaly THelonious Monk in there. I think if I could say any genre sounds particularly good with my setup, it would be a good jazz :)
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

David Manley - VTL Productions/Vital Records Jazz Collection

I stumbled upon this 23 CD collection on eBay which was "lost" in the Pro Audio listings. At $115 shipped (slightly more than $4/CD) I decided it was worth the gamble, and it was.

David Manley co-founded VTL with his son Luke, then Manley Labs - now operated by his daughter EveAnna. He currently lives in Paris and operates Marwan Manley Mastering.

In this collection, recorded at VTL's own studio in the early 90's, Manley insisted on his best-shot effort in all production, recording, and mastering aspects. The idea was to produce an absolute reference recording, without any technical concessions. Only purist recording techniques were used, with all music played "live" and captured with a single mic straight onto two analog stereo tracks. Not only was the recording chain all tube, but it was entirely designed by David - including a custom version of his Reference Gold stereo condenser microphone.

These are the most dynamic, natural recordings I've had the good fortune to experience. Simply amazing and completely captivating.

Alison Krauss & Union Station - Lonely Runs Both Ways - Their latest CD. They were in Knoxville last month playing in a small restrored theater (The Tennessee Theater) - I would have loved to see the show but my wife had some surgery that day. First things first! A very nice CD which as I understand will NOT be issued as a SACD. :(

Dave Mason - It's Like You Never Left/ Dave Mason - A two on one CD. It's Like You Never Left isn't his best but I do like Dave Mason quite a bit.

Watch out with this one and SL1000 and a totally SS source/amp. Her voice is often right were the SL1000 stops behaving well. Adding tubes into the mix helped greatly...

Very well recorded and sounds great on the Lineaum tweets
