SHM-SACD straight from Japan came today. Excellent sound for such and old recording.

Picked up these Reel to Reel CD's 1 and 2 about a week ago. Tesla has done a fine job on these covers. The recordings are locked between the 2.3tl's and jump out and expand when they need to.
Highly recommend if you're a Tesla fan. -

Nathaniel Rateliff...dude has some serious chops. Harmonizing, layering and simplicity is phenomenal. One listen several years ago and I was a fan. Do yourself a favor and check him out.
I've seen him with the Night Sweats twice in concert, and they are tremendous live. See them when you can.
Lucky you! Discovered him/them in a highly recommended film "Austin to Boston". Follows a wonderful group of musicians on a great journey. My dad had a 1977 VW Westfalia camper, so the nostalgia factor prompted me to watch it. Young group of "kids" compared to my age but made me long for such an adventure. Fun watch and incredible talent. I purchased music from each band as a result.
Synopsis of the film...
"5 old VW camper vans. 4 bands. 3 thousand miles. 2 weeks. 1 gloriously backwards tour. The adventure starts after a fire-fuelled final night at Austin's SXSW Music Festival, where the bands (Ben Howard, The Staves, Nathaniel Rateliff, Bear's Den) pile into their rides and head northeast. They play everywhere from bars to barns, rooms to rooftops, packing out tiny venues and wowing crowds with their unique sounds.
But heavy rainstorms, multiple breakdowns, and cramped conditions remind them that to push through sometimes you need to pull together. Featuring Mumford & Sons' Ben Lovett and narrated by Gill Landry this documentary is about a modern tour, done the old fashioned way."

Nathanial and Night Sweats were nearby in Sandpoint, ID, last August, but was unable to make it. I'm on his mailing list and keep hoping they'll make it back this direction. Just purchased the only 2 albums I was missing from them, "A Little Something More" and "Tearing Down the Seams", delivered yesterday. Unfortunately, woke up w/my left ear totally jacked up. Can't equalize or hear clearly. Chomping at the bit to listen to them.➀Speakers: Polk1.2tl's (Uber Mods) ➁Pre/Amp/DAC: PS Audio BHK Signature & 250, DirectStream ➂Cables/IC's: MIT S1Bi-Wire/S1 Balanced +Avel Lindberg 1000VA "Dreadnought" ➃Power Conditioner: PS Audio P15 Power Plant ➄Power Cords: Core Power Technologies Gold, DH Labs Power Plus DIY w/Neotech NC-P301 & P311ends ➅Streaming: Roon ROCK on wifi'd NUC, TP-Link WAP, & Uptone EtherREGEN, AfterDark, Emperor Double Crown Clock, Black Modernize LPS, PS Audio AirLens⟿Ω☯☥☮⟿🔊♩♪♫♬♩♪♫♬♩♪♫♬ -
