It's basic Buffett. Nothing new or out of the ordinary. If you are a Parrothead (fan) you will like it.

Roy Buchanan - Sweet Dreams-The Anthology

How this great blues player slipped under my radar for so long is beyond me. But this is a fantastic cd and he is (was) a phenomenal player.

Roy Buchanan has long been considered one of the finest, yet criminally overlooked guitarists of the blues rock genre whose lyrical leads and use of harmonics would later influence such guitar greats as Jeff Beck, his one-time student Robbie Robertson, and ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons.

This substantial two-disc Polydor set culls ... Full Descriptionsome of the finest cuts from Buchanan's '70s recordings for a retrospective of his early career. The master guitarist's facility with mid-tempo grooves ("Baltimore"), steamy slow blues ("After Hours"), hard-driving rockers ("My Baby Says She's Going To Leave Me"), slide workouts ("Tribute To Elmore James"), revamped covers ("Hey Joe," "Down By The River," "Green Onions"), and evocative instrumentals (the title cut) is fully in evidence here.

Though Buch hadn't yet developed the mercurial, tone-manipulating style that would characterize his work in the '80s and '90s, his fluid runs, scratches, wails, screeching harmonics, and his utter command of the blues guitar vocabulary place him head and shoulders above even the better-than-better six-string slingers of the time. Though the general mood of SWEET DREAMS is somewhat more subdued than many of Buch's dates (with more of an emphasis on slow blues and ballads), the backing musicians lend keen, rugged support to the wizard's flights of fancy, particularly on the set's six live cuts. SWEET DREAMS is the most comprehensive and compelling overview of Buchanan's early work available.

Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells a Story

    51SPZSyQ05L._SL500_AA240_.jpg

The BEST album Rod ever recorded IMO. "Gasoline Alley" and "Never a Dull Moment" are good and a couple of his albums with Faces like "A Nod Is as Good as a Wink...to a Blind Horse" and "Long Player" are very good too.

At some point Rod decided he wanted to be a Sexy Pop Star and it went downhill from there. I think even Rod himself has acknowledged that his music from his later years was just fluff and not very good.

Today was one of those rare, once in blue moon Sunday's where I had the house to myself for 8 hours. Wife and daughter were away. So I sat my **** down and listened to music. At the end of day I listen to music cause it shapes my mind. It gets my mind in a certain framework and I can then make decision's within this framework and a majority of the decision's turn out right.

A simple feel good, I am good album. - Joe Jackson Look Sharp

So you ask yourself, ok you're good but are you this good? Heck no. I wish I was as talented as this guy in what I do. Jackson Browne - The pretenders, Late for the sky and Looking East. There is an over 20 year gap between looking east and the other two and yes he's different on looking east, but the roots are the same. Thats why I love this guy.

Not only are other men smarter than you, some women are too.
The system wont let me repost pics, but I'm talking about Sarah McLachlan's Touch and Surfacing.

To this young kid. Good talent. He wants to stay true to his roots, which is good. I just wish he would outgrow the synthesizers an only use real muiscal instruments. But I will always have time of day for his stuff. David Gray - White Ladder and Draw the line.

To the three albums I have heard the most, in these 46 years.
    DSOTM
    Rumours
    Keith Jarrett - The Cure.

    Great sunday.
