This next album is one of my favorites. I hadn’t listened to it for a while until I felt in the mood tonight. Paula Frazier is the singer-songwriter for Tarnation.
From Wikipedia: “Her music is frequently described as melancholic alternative country, but with an eclectic mix of folk, blues and pop, among other genres.”
I tend to think of this album as a blend of twang, spaghetti western, Ennio Morricione, surf all thrown into a blender and out comes the haunting & intoxicating voice of Paula Frazier. Something you might expect to find on a Quentin Tarantino soundtrack or a Clint Eastwood spaghetti western.
I liked this album so much in 1997 that I bought several additional copies of the CD and gave them away as gifts to my friends and siblings. They all loved it. It's awesome and definitely worth checking out if you haven't heard Paula yet.Tarnation - Mirador (1997)
