NOT!
In a readers-digest-esque condensed form, here's what happened to me.

Sunday night about 8pm I got a pretty serious case of indigestion. Popped a few Tums and figured it would pass.
Fast forward to 5AM, and I'm in agony. The Mrs. wakes up and proceeds to get dressed to take me to the ER.

Well, after waiting in the ER for another eternity, they moved me into emergency surgery to remove my gall bladder. They finally released me today to go home. Let me tell you,
the tears that hit my eyes when I rolled out the Exit door were not just because I didn't have my sunglasses on. Talk
about having a life-changing moment.

All I will say at this point is, EMBRACE EACH DAY, AND LIVE IT TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY.

God Bless to all my Polk brothers and sisters, I cannot tell you how lucky I feel to be sitting here typing this.

Harry
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Holy crap, Harry! So glad you came out of it okay. And good that it was something operable. A co-worker of mine is going to chemo treatment in two weeks for cancer that made its way into the lymph nodes. No cure, just management.

Glad everything went well. I had mine removed when I was 26. Had no idea that it could be life threatening. I had to suffer with attacks for over a month before I finally got in for surgery. And it is agony.

It was laparoscopic, and I was released in about 8 hours.

Been there, done that, sucks bad.

I posit that the closest a man can come to child bearing pain is a bowel obstruction, gall bladder a short second....

Good to see you bouncing back. Fortunately that's one organ you can kind of afford to not have just have to watch the diet.

    Must've been scary though.

Love your declaration to embrace each day.

Try to hang on to that desperation and joy you experienced during your ordeal, its part of our journey in life, draw on that when you feel like dismissing anyones suffering, or to take a good day for granted, "at times we all do it".

It sounds like you were at that place where it all becomes so real, where our helplessness is laid out for all to see, all the B.S. falls away, and we stand there as real, and feeble as we can be.

It truly is hopeless in this life, but just as far as our ability to control the very most important things,we can only occupy ourselves with the very importantbut secondary matters in life, everyday stuff, we have to remember every second is a gift.

Learn from it, cherish it so it can help you to never feel awkward hugging someone, crying, expressing your love, and letting them know they matter to you, it might be the last time you or anyone else ever gets to tell them.

God bless you, and hurry back to health.
