6000 IHT Subwoofer stops working after changing channels

I've owned the Polk Soundbar 6000 IHT for 4 months now and I really love the sound experience it generates!
However, over the last month or so, the subwoofer typically stops working if I change the channel or change the volume. The problem can be fixed if I turn the switch of the soundbar off and then back on again. It just doesn't seem right that I have to keep going to manually turn it on and off.
Have you heard of this problem before? Any tips on how to fix it?
Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,
Welcome to Polk's forum. That's certainly an unusual set of symptoms, it's best if you telephone Polk's CS department first thing Monday at 1-800-377-7655.

Thanks! I actually called and was sent a new subwoofer amplifier. I hooked it up and I have the same problem. It will work for a bit, then I'll change the channel and sound only plays from the sound bar and nothing from the woofer. Any thoughts? My TV is a Sony Bravia Smart TV and the cable is Shaw cable in Canada.

You may try turning up the volume on your tv. Worth a shot.

How will that influence the likelihood of the subwoofer working or not working?

I was sent both a new subwoofer and sound bar from Polk Canada and it hasn't solved the problem. I even did a factory reset on my Sony Bravia. Maybe it has to do with the settings on the TV? It is very frustrating.

What kind of cable would you recommend? Right now I'm using the one that goes into source 1 that came with it.
