How to get sound output from Surroundbar 3000 from Sony Blu Ray BDP-S3200?

I have had a Surroundbar 3000 hooked up to my Sharp Aquos HDTV via the optical cable and the sound from the bar works great on the TV, and it also worked great when I switched my TV input to both my Wii (for Netflix streaming) and my standard DVD player...and the sound changed automatically on the input change.
The TV is connected to my DirectTV cable box via an HDMI cable.
I recently purchased a Sony Blu Ray BDP-S3200. I have connected the Blu Ray to the TV via a 2nd HDMI cable, but am not getting sound through the Surroundbar when playing Blu Ray discs. I changed the Digital Audio Output setting in the Blu Ray player to PCM and still no sound.
I took a next step and purchased a Coaxial Digital Audio cable and connected the Blu Ray directly to Source 2 on the Surroundbar via this cable and still no sound.
Can somebody please suggest something that will work? I am hoping that I don't have an inferior version of the Surroundbar that will not produce sound for Blu Ray players and force me to purchase another one.
