compliance problem? mw6511

I was having a problem with one driver mechanically bottoming out in my sda srs 2.3 system, I swapped it out for another MW 6511 that had a broken magnet assembly that i was able to recenter and glue and the early bottoming out problem went away.
Has any one else experienced this problem? is the compliance from the spider and/or surround weakened from age or is there something that i may be missing? any ideas if it can be repaired?

I'd also check for air tightness on the cabinet.

I will check for air leaks, it was sealed with a clay like caulk but maybe i missed something.
i could add just a bit of flexible glue in one of the spirals in the spider but i am guessing that changes a lot of parameters of the driver. The glue i have is the same orange goo used in manufacturing, just brain storming still i can properly replace the driver.
Is the MW 6511 still available?

Clay like? Most likely Mortite. You're better off making new gaskets out of Armacell foam tape. As for the spider, no glue is going to fix it. Not sure if Polk still has replacement 6511s. Call Customer Service Monday. Be sure to tell them you're a member of Club Polk for the discount and free shipping.

Ok I will remove the the stuff, I think i can get my hands on some foam gaskets that where from a group buy a few years ago, My friend who I bought them from, I know ordered them but never installed them, I had him order some for my 1B. Is there any "easy" way to get the drivers out? with out prying on them and risk putting marks in the baffle? Thank god only the left channel speaker was caulked.

You can push them from behind, by removing the passive radiator.
