after y'all left saturday i got all kinds of samples. didn't need dinner but we went out anyway. i was tell ing you how a lot of the good cooks were not at the cookoff because they didn't like that association but there was one there that got three checks on three meats and got the grand champion check. there was a couple there at their first competition and they made it to the finals table in all four entries. i was so hyped up that i had to do some ribs,chicken and sausage today. is it may 10th for your birthday? get your dad to do brisket and i will bring some ribs.

    I missed a good time and my arm is killing me from throwing batting practice today. Kids are getting good enough that I actually have to wing it there at a decent speed...especially for my noodle arm.

    Congrats man!!! A great accomplishment at any rate, but especially impressive given the path you took. Full time job, full time husband and father, and full load of classes. That's tough.
