Well the saga for this particular configuration of SRT's is over ...

I watched the auction on eBay to the end which no one bid on, and I had a variety of back and forth emails with the seller both during and after the auction. He appeared to be genuine in terms of what he had etc. but it was at best difficult to get him to spell out what he actually wanted for them.

They have sold privately to someone ( not me, bummer ) but I suspect from what I know that they went for a good deal less than what I would have paid for them. Who knows, maybe for some reason I wasn't believable.

It appeared up until the end that he was going to relist them with less stringent requirements but that obviously didn't happen either.

Being involved in this I learned a lot more about the SRT's than I had originally known having gotten the set up and operations manual from Polk etc.

It was an interesting quest. Such is ... Maybe next time ...

I've heard both the 1.2's and the SRT's in two channel. I believe I like the 1.2's better. The SRT's seemed the same overall except that the bass (from the subwoofer) was louder, although a little detached. I could be wrong but to tell any more I would have to hear them side by side. As a plus for the 1.2 side the SDA xover is passive whereas it is active on the SRT's. To me passive is more desireable. I'll bet a full up SRT system for HT is pretty awesome!

    HT was the intention ...

It would be interesting to have & hear SDA/Stereo arrays for highs, mids & upper bass on top of better SVS cubes ...
