Adding another PSW505....

My wife and I just bought our first house so yay! However, my new theater room is roughly 30% bigger than my old room and sub impact has been a cause of some disappointment. Currently my system consists of Polk Monitor 60/40/CS1 and one PSW505.
In our last place my room was roughly 12x16. However the new room is 16x20 and the TV/front speakers have to be situated along the 20-foot length because there are doors on all three of the other walls. The sub response in the old room sounded great, but that extra lateral width is making it seem off balance.
Currently it is set up:
sub -- Left main
center
right main
If I were to add another PSW505 for the right side, would that lend more balance? Or would I end up with a bunch of standing waves and mess everything up? Or should I just save my money for the big upgrade to an SVU or HSU sub.

Save money. Single VTF-15h > three PSW 505's.
In the mean time do a sub crawl test.Up

To clarify I guess, my question would be if there is anybody here who has had a setup with 2 PSW505's and whatever issues/praise they had of it. Surely somebody here has done it, right?
And I am sure the big upgrade to something like an HSU will come soon enough, but in the short-term I'm talking about spending $150 with the PSW505 versus something like $800 I would imagine for one of the big boys. -
Hello,
I recently picked up another 505 for a steal(was a return and just needed the actual coil wire resoldered to the terminal post)
So for me I picked up PSW505 $125 for the pair(did not buy at same time though). Best purchase I made yet lol.
Yes I do realize it would be best to just get a SVS , Velodyne, HSU and so fourth and be done with it. BUT since you have one already and the 505
Are pretty dang cheap, it would be a viable option for the meantime.
I will(hopefully) buy a SVS within the year or 2 but for now they sound/work perfectly.
Setting up was...... Time consuming mainly because I was by myself.
Between crawling, phasing, listening, moving box lol.
The best spot is exactly where I wanted initially BUT funny enough I decided to flip the whole
cabinet upside down so the port was on top and magic happened. Went ahead adjusted gain and stuff
To equal out and that was it.
My front stage is similar to yours but both subs are between the towers and center channel.
Hope this helps.
Here is a picture when movie is in progress(i only pull my subs out about 10" and spread my towers)
LoLthat sounded weird

Aaah, I see.
Yes, adding a second 505 is definitely a good idea, and much cheaper than the big boys and set up properly would probably give you better bass than a single $500 sub.
Placed and set up properly a second sub can increase output up to 3db and give much more even response throughout the room, and in my experience reveal more bass information not just at the main listening position but all positions.Up
