Maybe I need to cut back on the beer.

Over the last July 4th break I am drinking some beer, and listening to the stereo. Just having fun, and surfing the net with the iPad, and somehow I ended up ordering a pair of Pass Labs X600.5 amps. Last night I am doing the same thing and, on another forum, stumbled across a pair of, basically new, Magico S5 speakers (300 hours) for sale. The price is about $10K off new, and a little less than new S3s. The owner is the forum founder and goes through gear like I do beer, so I figured I better jump. Well, after a few more brewskis I bought them.

These puppies should be the perfect match for the Pass, and had better be the last big purchase I make. That's it. No more. Maybe. I hope.

    Congrats Blue!!!

That's usually how I buy $20 albums...a few too many beers. Not thousands of $ worth of gear!

Anyways...hope you enjoy your new purchase.

PFB? Well, I haven't broken anything yet, except for my retirement savings. Once they arrive and I am satisfied they are working as expected then pics and a review will be done.

I am a bit nervous as this is the first 'used' piece of gear I have bought, and they are coming from Florida. While my Pass pre and amps were considered demos by the dealer I considered them as new. The owner says he has the original shipping crates and will use a piano mover to get them to the freight company. However, until they are in my living room I am going to be on the apprehensive side.

Aerial Acoustics 7T. They will move into the front speakers for the HT/surround system. The current fronts, PSB Synchrony One, will move to the rear. They will displace the rear LSi15s, which are my last currently active Polk speakers.

What I do when I work out shipping with higher end gear:
    1) sender takes lots of pics send me email
    2) Ship via fed-ex
    3) ship to a Fed-ex drop location so you can inspect on a Fed-ex site pop boxes open and inspect take pics if necessary
    4) take home and enjoy gear that you paid a fraction of price

I have bought used gear internationally have yet to have a problem.....have another beer and have fun

    Congrats

Great looking speakers, I bet they sound even better! Will the LSi15s be up for sale here?

Speaking of beer, have you tried the Drake's Black Robusto porter? It's fantastic.

Having heard the S5s, with ~300 hours and at $10k off retail, you wore a mask right? :loneranger:
That's a fantastic score. I only got to listen to em on a pair of Mark Levinson 531H mono blocks but still an amazing speaker.

Haven't tried that beer. Believe it or not, but I am pretty frugal. I only buy whatever micro brew Safeway has on sale.

Yes, I am considering selling 4 LSi15s and an LSiC. However, it will be local pickup since I no longer have the boxes.
