There is a forum member here in New England that has a good start on the audio end....;)

EDIT: My bad, more than a good start....

I can make an educated guess....he may live in NH and has been pillaging the local equipment dumping grounds for years. It must be nice to be retired!!!
Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!

Package it in to the National Museum of American History. People would view it. Currently, there's an exhibit on "Puppetry in America". People love all things Americana.

Interesting idea that would FAIL market testing big time, so I hope you win the lottery and have the cash to make it happen because otherwise there would be no way to keep it open! And only a lot of balding, bear-belly, T-shirt and Mom jeans wearing (barely fitting) 40 somethings and above would ever make the trek! lol

That maybe but I have things going on and this one day maybe a reality. A part of something else I'm working on.

Hmmm....and in that last glass case, at the very end....rest an Ipod. Tour is over.

Dan, nobody cares bro, isn't that painfully obvious by now ? Except for a few in the niche markets of Audio, the rest are happy with Ipods, earbuds, and streaming music to a 300 buck AVR.
I would hope someone would care, I do.

Hopefully it has a large Victrola room, that is where all the cool people will hang out.
I believe a Hot Dog and beer area would be cool. A comfortable place with high end back ground music playing

If you do it, you've GOT to have a special wing of the museum called "Do Cables Really Matter?" And then prove that, once and for all, they do. Or do not.
It's in the plan. It would start with the first ever attempt on making better cables then what was offered at the time. Then show a complete history and to date of different companies that spawned off this, who did it great.

A cable display - including the evolution of advertising and journalism on the topic, as well as some 'hard data' on the physics - would be very interesting. Multimedia and multidisciplinary opportunities abound! The Polk Audio Cobra Cables and Discwasher's GoldenEnz were the first 'boutique' cables I remember - there might have been others (there must have been others).

Putting together such an exhibit - even virtually - could be a nice beta test to shop around for funding support... sounds like this has crossed your mind already!

EDIT: As an aside - one hifi area in which I am often dazzled by in terms of there being "nothing new under the sun" is record playing. It's kind of amazing to look at the table, arm, and cartridge offerings in the early 1960s catalogs at www.radioshackcatalogs.com and www.alliedcatalogs.com

I think this is hilarious coming from a guy who tells people to throw away their cassette decks.

You mean Philo T. Farnsworth, right? Zworykin visited Farnsworth's lab, and was heard saying "I wish I had invented it."

No, I meant Zworykin, with no disrespect to Farnsworth, because without couple of Zworykin's, there would have been no TV -- at least for a few years! :-)
