Recommend some rock instrumentals?

I'm thinking of putting together about 8-10 hours worth of rock instrumentals, to store on a memory card for looped or random playback (my version of elevator muzak ;o)) and wanted to get some suggestions on artist/songs, since that's a lot of space to fill.

A few I've thought of off the top of my head:

Joe Satriani--Always With Me, Always With You
Eric Johnson --Cliffs of Dover
Santana--I love you much too much
Santana--Aqua marine
Doobie Brothers--Steamer lane breakdown
Jeff Beck--'Cause we've ended as lovers
Rush--La villa strangiatto
ELO--Fire on high
Jessica--Allman Brothers
Glad--Traffic
Cruise Missile--Dixie Dregs
Fanfare for the Common Man--Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Pali Gap--Jimi Hendrix
Peace in Mississippi--Jimi Hendrix

and since I'll need a hundred songs or more to fill 10 hours, several from the same artist is not a problem.
Please suggest some of your favorite rock instrumentals!

Who: Tommy - Overture and Underture (oh, that Pete was sooo clever in his younger days!); Quadrophenia - Quadrophenia and The Rock
Pink Floyd - One of these Days, Great Gig in the Sky (well, almost sans vocals, in both cases)

Would you count Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells?

Not quite rock, but Bruce Cockburn's done a number of instrumentals over the years - two that come to mind: Deep Lake and Train in the Rain.

Some of these have several versions.

If you know the particular album the version you like is from (or a youtube link to it) that would be great.

I think I'll try to limit it to no more than 5 or 6 from any one artist, but you're right and some of these guys like Jeff Beck, Satriani, Vai, Morse, Hendrix, etc have hours of instrumentals.

For whatever reason I have a hard time remembering the names of instrumental songs.

Does Gary Moore have some instrumentals? Steely Dan? I think they do but I can't recall the names of the songs, or if there were any good ones (a lot of instrumentals are pretty boring)

Well - there are lots of really good songs that are mostly instrumentals but not totally (a stanza or two of lyrics built around a jam/instrumental).

Like Steely Dan's "Your Gold Teeth" - mostly instrumental but some sung lyrics. It doesn't meet your criteria of purely 'instrumental' though.

    Any interest in almost-instrumentals? :-)
