Hi,
I'm having trouble with my new Polk Rti a7s and I have no clue where to go from here. Basically it sounds like my Bass is pushing through my tweeters.
Speakers
2 Polk Audio Rti a7's
1 Polk Audio PSW111
1 Sony STR DN 1040 Receiver
I am playing my music from my home computer, which is hooked to the receiver with HDMI.
Speakers are connected to receiver with 16 AWG Monster cable.
Sub has a Monster Cable.
I have tried
bi-amping/not bi-amping
running new cable. twice (im an advanced electronic tech who is meticulous when it comes to wiring
adjusting EQ levels in Itunes and on the Receiver
returning speakers for a new set
returning receiver for new one
tried a Denon AVR E400
for 6 days now i have run my music at low volume for 10 hrs a day (Break in)
all my music is aac, mp3, or itunes lossless format.
I just don't know where to go from here besides to return these rti a 7s and try something entirely different because i cant justify spending this kind on money on speakers that (no offense) sound like junk. Please, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

From what you've posted I think we can rule out the speakers, receiver and speaker cables. That leaves the sound card in your computer, which are generally crap.
That said, I can't say I've heard anyone describe the bass as pushing thru the tweeters. Could you please try to describe that differently?Political Correctness'.........defined

Thanks a million! These speakers sound AMAZING! Never thought it would be a sound card. When i said it sounded like the bass frequencies were trying to push through my tweeters, basically my highs sounded like an old set of ipod headphones trying to push out some bass lines and just sounding like a ****.
